Digital Marketing For Nursing Homes & Daycare Hospitals In Kolkata, Built Around The NMC Rules

Nursing home marketing in Kolkata needs to answer practical questions quickly: where the facility is, when it operates, which services it provides and how to contact it. The National Medical Commission (NMC), under Public Notice No. R-13014/01/2024-Ethics dated 6 October 2026, restricts misleading claims and certain promotional offers. Clear, verified information matters more than claims designed to impress.

Medmatis is an NMC-compliant healthcare digital marketing agency in Kolkata: our work is built around the National Medical Commission's 2026 guidelines. Here is how those rules apply to nursing homes and day-care centres, and what we do about them.

The short answer

Nursing homes can publish verified addresses, hours, services and doctor information, but must avoid misleading outcome promises, unsupported "painless" claims and offers that encourage unnecessary care.

Updated 23 October 2026. Based on the NMC's Public Notice No. R-13014/01/2024-Ethics of 6 October 2026. Not legal advice.

What patients ask before they choose

Is there a nursing home near my location?A nursing home can publish its verified address, contact details and services so people can judge whether it suits their needs. Keep business listings consistent and correct, and do not imply services that are unavailable (cl. 8.3, 9.1).
Is the nursing home open right now?Publish accurate opening hours and update them when the schedule changes. If emergency services run on different arrangements, describe only the verified ones, and do not imply round-the-clock availability unless the institution has confirmed it.
Does this nursing home have an ICU or emergency service? The website can state which facilities or services are available if the information is accurate and current. Verify every such claim with the institution first, and do not use emergency wording to suggest more than the facility can support (cl. 8.3, 9.1).
What day-care procedures are available here?A day-care page can list the procedures the institution actually offers and explain how to enquire. Avoid calling a procedure "painless" or guaranteeing an outcome, because that can create unrealistic expectations (cl. 8.3; cl. 8.1 iii, vi).
Which doctors visit this nursing home?A factual directory can list consulting doctors with verified names, qualifications and registration details. Keep schedules current and avoid praise that lifts one doctor above others (cl. 3.2, Explanations III and IV; cl. 9.1).
What are the nursing home's visiting hours?Publish the current visiting-hour policy and explain how people can confirm it if the schedule changes. The page should reflect the institution's actual arrangements, not an old listing or an unverified statement.

The NMC rules that matter most for nursing homes and day-care centres

The notice binds doctors and hospitals, and an agency does not remove that responsibility (cl. 4.4). These are the clauses we design around.

Allowed Local information must be factualClauses 8.3 and 9.1 provide for factual information about medical institutions, including directory-style details. For a neighbourhood nursing home that means clear pages with address, contact details, hours and actual services. Check each detail with the institution rather than filling gaps with generic claims.
Not allowed Day-care claims must not misleadClause 8.3 bars guarantees of outcome and unverifiable claims by institutions, and clauses 8.1 iii and vi name "painless treatment" and unrealistic expectations for doctors. Avoid phrases such as "100% safe" or "completely painless", describe the service factually and have the clinical team review the wording.
Allowed with care Camps and offers need careful reviewClause 8.1 x restricts discounts, coupons, gifts and free procedures where they are likely to encourage unnecessary care or solicit patients. Do not assume a free camp or offer is acceptable because it is local. Review its purpose, wording and activity before publishing it.
Your responsibility The institution retains responsibilityUnder clause 4.4, using an agency does not remove the institution's responsibility for content it authorised. The nursing home should verify its services, hours, consultant details and emergency arrangements before publication. Medmatis supports the process; the institution confirms accuracy.

What to publish, and what to leave out

Do

  • Publish a verified address and contact number
  • Keep opening hours and service listings current
  • List visiting consultants using checked details
  • Explain day-care services without outcome promises

Don't

  • Claim emergency care that is not available
  • Describe procedures as completely painless
  • Use offers to encourage unnecessary treatment
  • Leave outdated hours on local listings
What we won't do

We will not describe a nursing home as open around the clock without verification, claim emergency facilities it does not have, or promote day-care with "painless" or guaranteed-outcome language. We will not use offers that encourage unnecessary care, manufacture reviews or leave known inaccuracies uncorrected. We never price our work per patient or per enquiry (cl. 8.1 vii, viii).

Questions from nursing homes and day-care centres

What information should a nursing home publish online?

Start with verified institutional information. A nursing home website can show its address, contact details, opening hours, services and factual doctor-directory details under the information framework in cl. 8.3 and 9.1. The institution should check these details before publication and whenever they change, and never imply an unverified service.

Can a nursing home list visiting consultants on its website?

Yes, as factual directory information. The website can list verified consultant details and the disclosures the notice expects (cl. 3.2, Explanations III and IV; cl. 9.1). Keep schedules accurate, and avoid promotional praise or language that presents one doctor as superior without an objectively verifiable basis.

Can we advertise day-care procedures as "painless"?

No, not as an unsupported promotional assurance. Clause 8.3 restricts guarantees and unverifiable claims by institutions, and clauses 8.1 iii and 8.1 vi restrict doctors' misleading claims and unrealistic expectations. A day-care page should describe the service accurately, without guaranteeing that a procedure will be painless or promising a result, and the clinical team should review procedure wording first.

Can a nursing home promote a free health camp?

Not without reviewing the purpose and the proposed promotion. Clause 8.1 x restricts free procedures and incentives where they are likely to encourage unnecessary care or solicit patients. Not every activity called a camp has the same status, so review its wording and context and take legal advice if its status is uncertain.

Can we publish photographs of the nursing home premises?

Factual premises information may be appropriate. Clauses 8.3 and 9.1 support factual institutional information, but a photograph should not imply facilities or services that do not exist. Check that images show the real premises and contain no identifiable patients or personal information (cl. 7.4) before publication.

Can we create a Google Business Profile for our nursing home?

Accurate local information is a sensible starting point. The institutional-information framework in cl. 8.3 and 9.1 supports factual communication, but it does not settle every feature or promotional practice on a third-party platform. Keep the address, hours, contact details and services accurate, and review promotional content against the notice.
