For urologists and urology clinics in Kolkata
Digital Marketing For Urologists In Kolkata, Built Around The NMC Rules
Urology practices often discuss sensitive symptoms, investigations and treatment decisions. Patients need clear service information and a discreet way to ask questions, without sensational language or promises about outcomes. The NMC's Public Notice No. R-13014/01/2024-Ethics, dated 6 October 2026, sets boundaries for medical advertising and public communication, and for urology that includes careful handling of patient information.
Medmatis is an NMC-compliant healthcare digital marketing agency in Kolkata: our work is built around the National Medical Commission's 2026 guidelines. Here is how those rules apply to urology practices, and what we do about them.
Urology practices can publish factual service information and non-promotional education. Avoid sensational claims, guaranteed outcomes, promotional patient stories and careless handling of sensitive enquiries.

What patients ask before they choose
The NMC rules that matter most for urology practices
The notice binds doctors and hospitals, and an agency does not remove that responsibility (cl. 4.4). These are the clauses we design around.
What to publish, and what to leave out
✓Do
- Explain urology services in respectful, plain language
- Publish verified clinician and clinic information
- Offer clear, privacy-conscious appointment routes
- Describe procedures, risks and limits factually
✕Don't
- Use fear or embarrassment to generate enquiries
- Promise guaranteed results from procedures
- Share identifiable patient stories as promotion
- Send sensitive reminders without a data review
How Medmatis works with urology practices
We will not create urology campaigns built around embarrassment, fear, guaranteed outcomes or unsupported claims about procedures and technology. We will not use patient stories as promotional proof, or treat WhatsApp and email enquiries as ordinary marketing lists without considering privacy. Unclear claims and offers are flagged for review. We never price our work per patient or per enquiry (cl. 8.1 vii, viii).

Questions from urology practices
Can a urology clinic publish educational posts about prostate health?
Yes, as education rather than promotion. Clause 5.1 allows health education that does not promote the practice or solicit patients. Use respectful, clinically reviewed language and avoid fear-based messaging or implied diagnoses. Posts should help people prepare questions for a healthcare professional, not pressure them to contact one clinic.
Can we advertise laser or minimally invasive urological procedures?
Factually, with care. Clause 3.2, Explanation II, allows factual equipment information, and clauses 8.1 iii, iv and vi bar guaranteed outcomes, device endorsements and unrealistic expectations. Describe what the practice offers without implying a technology is superior, risk-free or certain to work, and have technical and clinical claims reviewed.
Can a clinic share a patient's recovery story with consent?
Not as promotional patient material. Clause 8.1 v bars promotional patient stories and before-and-after content, and clause 6.2 says consent alone does not make them acceptable. Use general educational explainers instead. Any scientific or educational use of patient material needs separate review of purpose, consent and privacy.
Can we answer patient enquiries about sensitive symptoms on WhatsApp?
Only with a privacy review. A WhatsApp enquiry is still personal data, and clauses 7.4 and 7.6 address patient identity and personal data. Set clear procedures for access, storage and follow-up, do not ask patients for unnecessary medical detail on promotional channels, and do not promise absolute confidentiality without verifying the process.
Can a urology clinic promote a kidney-stone or prostate package?
Review it before publication. Clause 8.1 x bars discounts and offers likely to encourage unnecessary care or amount to solicitation, while lawful disclosure of fees that is factual, transparent and not misleading is allowed. Do not present a package as necessary for everyone or use urgency, and treat a fee page as a starting point, not clearance.
Can SEO help patients find a urologist in Kolkata?
Yes. The notice does not bar search optimisation: clause 8.1 xii bars fake engagement and ranking manipulation to mislead, and 8.1 ix bars unsupported superiority claims. Keep practitioner details, service descriptions and contact information accurate, and make no outcome or ranking promises.
